Many roads in the town have been rendered impassable following heavy downpour that has pounded the region for the last 2 weeks.

Businesses people especially bodaboda and tuktuk operators are the most affected as they have been stuck in muddy waters for several hours.

Kevin Musyoka, a bodaboda operator, expressed his agitation over inconveniences they encounter whenever it rains in the region.

"As bodaboda operators, we really incur huge losses whenever it rains in Garissa. Roads are in a pathetic state, and when it rains many of them become impassable obstructing our businesses," said Kevin.

The inconveniences angered many residents who accused the local leaders of embezzling funds meant to spur infrastructures in the region.

The residents further urged the area governor, Ali Korane, to intervene and help revamp the roads to spare them from the constant devastations and loses of businesses they incur whenever it rains in the region.
