Garissa locals have appealed to Jubilee Government to let go of National Resistance Movement self-declared General Miguna Miguna.
The locals of Garissa say the way the government is handling Miguna Miguna case is not appropriate and want the government to release him.
"Miguna is an innocent man who does not deserve such kind of treatment from the government,” states Farah Tuti.
They lashed at the government for deploying police officers to counter one man Miguna instead of directing them to Garissa where they say are needed the most.
“It is shameful to see more than forty AP police officers fighting one Miguna Miguna, I think Garissa and Mandera need more of this so-called police to fight the Alshabaab,” Noted Ali Baba Salim.
Others have taken to social media to advocate for the release of the government critic.
“Just because someone is a government critic does not warrant him to be declared an enemy of the people as Jubilee government has done,” Sated Abu Hajaaj.
They warned that the way they treat Miguna would tarnish the name of Jubilee and the government.
“Jubilee government are the biggest losers of Miguna detention since it poses them as a dictatorial government and uplifts Miguna as a freedom fighter,” Says Patrick Njeng’a.
They now want the government to comply with the court orders to release Miguna and produce him in court.
