The Garissa County government has vowed to sue the Kenya electricity generating company (KENGEN).
This has arisen after what they termed as perennial floods which left most of them displaced from their homes destroying farms and property worth millions of shillings.
Garissa deputy governor, Abdullahi Ali has claimed the power generating company has subjected the residents to untold suffering following the release of excess waters from its reservoirs at the 7 forks dams.
The affected residents now want the company to use their Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) kitty to uplift the lives of those affected by the floods.
The 7 forks power stations are one of the major hydro-electric power stations in Kenya. The plant was conceived as a multipurpose project comprising hydro-power, agricultural, fisheries and tourism development.
