Residents of Garissa County have been urged to fully participate in the recently launched County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) that aims at collecting public views to be used unsetting the county's development agenda for the next five years.
Speaking when he presided over the forum in Garissa Town on Monday, Trade, Entrepreneur Development and Tourism executive Adow Jubat and his Youth, Gender and Sports counterpart Ms Zeinab Abdi said urged the residents to turn out in their numbers and voice their priorities adding that the county government would gladly cater for them in line with their priorities.
Mr Jubat added that as a county they had learnt from the previous mistakes under the regime of then-governor Nathif Jama and they would not wish to repeat the same in the second era of devolution.
The county executive further added that majority of the stalled projects that had been initiated by the maiden county government was largely as result of the lack of public participation.
One of the most expensive counties in the republic, Garissa county mainly ails from food insecurity, poor health facilities and insecurity and it is largely expected that the three issues could dominate the agenda of governor Ali Korane going forward.
