Garissa High School has said they will not allow students who did not perform well in last year’s KCSE to repeat with the hope of performing better.
The decision was reached upon by Garissa school headteacher and other teachers, who agreed that they will not allow those who did not perform well in last year’s exam to repeat.
According to the teachers, this will serve as a warning to those currently in school and are not working hard.
170 students sat for their exams last year, with 209 expected to sit this year’s exams in the school, and this has contributed to the decision not to allow for more students.
According to the school deputy teacher, the number of students in form four now is high, and they do not have enough resources to have more students.
“The decision was reached upon because of the high number of students in the school, and it will be a lesson to many that if they do not work hard with the single chance they have, they should know there will not be many more chances,” he said.
According to the teacher, they have taken the initiative since many students want to join the institution, which is the only national school in the area.
