Garissa county on Saturday participated in the 2016 annual Disability Run.
The county was represented by nominated MCA Abdirahman in the 5th edition of the annual Desert Wheel Race event organized by the Northern disability caucus and hosted by Isiolo county government.
The Desert Wheel Race is one of the main flagship events of Northern Nomadic Disabled Person's Organization (NONDO) that aims to influence and shape an inclusive society that is free from discrimination and that which respects human rights.
Under the theme, 'Peace Building, Cohesion, and Integration', this year's theme focused on the social integration of Persons with disabilities (PWDs) and uniting Kenyans.
NONDO is a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) whose major thematic areas include Basic Education, Health and Rehabilitation, Governance issues, Social and Economic Empowerment.
