Anne Ongwae, from Hotel Ya'buga in Nyaribari Masaba Sub-county, was a second year student pursuing education and according to her father, Stephen Ongwae, a teacher, he learnt of her daughter's demise from a relative after Al Shabaab millitia stormed and shot students and staff in the institution.

He travelled to Narobi's Chiromo mortuary to confirm whether she was her real daughter, and confirmed yes. He expressed his heart break on her daughter whom he decribed as polite and kind-hearted.

"I am heartbroken that I have suddenly lost my promising daughter whom I had hope in. She was kind, loving, responsible and any other adjective that can be used to describe a person with positive virtues," he said.

Dorcas Ongwae, also a second year student at Kenyatta University, said her late sister knew she could not escape the cruel hands of terrorists.

"My sister sent me an sms reading, 'my sister am in danger pray for me,' and when I called back to know what was transpiring, she was off till today when we found her remains at Chiromo mortuary," she said.
