Led by Chacha Bichang’a, English and literature tutor, the lecturers called the government to assure them of their jobs, since the institution was the source of their daily income.

Speaking at the Gusii Stadium during the interdenominational prayers for the Kisii County’s twelve students who lost their lives to the Garissa terror attack, Bichang'a said that the country has lost great people.

Bichang’a urged the government to assure learners and tutors of their security.

"It is sad to loose such innocent and promising souls to terrorist. As lectures we feel disheartened. We are praying that God will intervene in the lives of the families during this trying moments,” said Bichang’a.

Kennedy Ombaba, a lecturer from the institution, urged parents to enrol their children into institutions located in peaceful areas.

"We are appealing to the Gusii leaders to liaise with the government to ensure all students from this community studying in various institutions in Garissa are transferred to more secure institutions," said Ombaba.
