Somalia's Jubaland security minister Abdirashid Janan has confirmed the killing of suspected Garissa University college terror attack mastermind Mohammed Kuno alias Gamadhere on Wednesday June 1 by US drones.
Kuno was killed together with four other Al Shabab militias according to Janan who addressed the press shortly after the death.
Kuno who was born in Garissa moved from the country to join Al Shabab and was said to be lower Juba commander of the group.
Intelligence reports last year linked him with Kenya's University attack which left at least 147 people among them students dead.
Previously, Kenya's government had offered a prize of Sh21.9 million for anyone who would provide information leading to his capture.
The killing of Kuno will be a huge victory towards ensuring the region is secure from terror activities by Al Shabab.
