The Garissa University is set to host the Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom football tournament. 

According to a local daily, the tournament’s final comes after taking a short break. The county will be hosting the fourth edition of the tournament, which was founded to scout for talent at the grass root level.The tournament will bring together four teams including Ifpro from Garissa, Jamia FC from Mandera, Jack Boys from Dadaab and Al-Hayat from Wajir. Nick Mwendwa, Football Kenya Federation President has said that football fans from different parts of the region are eagerly waiting for the tournament.“The tournament has been a success across the country right from the group stages as young players showcase their football prowess. We look forward to the same vigor from the North Eastern teams,” he said, as quoted by Capital FM.More than 100 teams have participated in the tournament with over 300 games being played. The winning team will part with Sh.1 million each. The teams will also get a chance to travel to London in the United Kingdom for an international training and mentorship camp in April this year. Coast, Western, Central and Nairobi regions are expected to hold their finals.
