Thirty elected MCAs and 18 nominated are expected to be sworn into office during the function, with all set as confirmed by assembly clerk Mohamud Santur.
“Elected MCAs elect and those nominated will be sworn in on September 7,” Santur said.
All the nominations slots were reserved for women after they failed to meet the two third gender rule.
Meanwhile, different leaders have expressed concern over the number of elected women leaders in the county.
NGO Womankind Kenya director Abdullahi Mohamed has called upon women in the county to enter the political arena. She opines that time has come for women to break the deadlock after those who expressed interest were floored by their male opponents.
“We need to embrace the capacity of an individual, irrespective of that person’s gender. We should judge each individual according to his or her performance. It will take some time to see women get an equal playing field,” he said.
