The Garissa Water and Sewerage Company is set to open more offices in the county to ease accessibility of service offered by the water company.
Water executive Issa Dubow said opening more zonal offices in the county will reduce the congestion at the head office.
Mr. Dubow said currently Garissa residents are forced to go to the head office to seek services which result in time wasting and serving only a few people.
The executive, speaking in Garissa Town on Friday said the water company will open four zonal offices in Waberi, Iftin, Galbet and Garissa Township with technical and complaint response teams to ease congestion at the head office.
He said the offices will be operational from January and they will deal with the registration of new connections, updating the register and addressing other complaints from customers.
“The new zonal offices will reduce congestion at the head office and increase efficiency on service delivery.”
“The management which is supposed to deal with policy issues and ways to improve critical services are using most of their time-solving problems meant for technical staff,” the executive said.
He also said that the ongoing water rehabilitation works in the county will improve water supply.
