Speaking at her office after flagging off 65 water tanks meant for Dadaab residents, Gure said that she has been in the political arena long enough, adding that she has no serious competitor.
The Woman rep called upon residents of the region to give her another term in office to complete what she started four years ago.
She also urged them not vote for candidates based on political parties or clans, and affirmed that her people will not let her walk alone, adding she has enough experience in the game.
“Let’s meet at the ballot. I’m sure of emerging victorious, especially now that I have become an experienced politician,” she said, as quoted by Star.
Gure alleged that her opponents have been trans-versing the county with the aim of mudslinging but it will not work for them when that time comes.
“I know my political nemeses have been moving round the county, trying to discredit me and feeding the public with all manner of lies that I have misused the Affirmative Action Fund,” she added.
The outspoken politician further downplayed allegations that the elders from the community have endorsed a specific candidate to dethrone her from power or asked her to pave way for another in the August 8 elections.
Gure is expected to lock horns with Amina Keynan, Fatuma Kinsi, Annab Subbow, Abla Sahal and Mariam Sheikh.
