Residents of Isiolo county who have suffered fire and drought setbacks will on Friday receive relief food and other items as earlier promised by the national and county governments.
According to the county commissioner George Natembeya,the items have since been bought and will be dustrubuted to the locals in a bid to tame humanitarian crisis brought about by the twin calamities.
Natembeya also revealed that Devolution and planning cabinet secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri is expected to officiate the exercise that targets residents of Merti,Kinna and Modagashe.
Whereas drought has always been a constant crisis in the region a recent inferno at Isiolo main market left a trail of destruction after over 650 stalls went up in flames though no casualties were reported.
County boss Mohammed Kuti has since pledged to ensure that fire engines are bought to respond to future eventualities.
