Mandera Governor Ali Roba has asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and National Intelligence Service (NIS) to investigate the alleged transfer of voters from different parts aimed at frustrating his re-election.
The governor said that the Garre elders are to blame for the voter transfer.
"The IEBC and NIS should take this matter seriously and start investigations. They need to establish those behind the transfers and take action," he said, as quoted by Star.
The county boss, who spoke in Mandera on Wednesday, said that the elders from the Garre Community have hatched a plot to frustrate him ahead of the polls, adding that he will not take it lying low.
This comes after the council of elders from this community endorsed 21 members to contest for different elective posts in the forthcoming general elections under the leadership of chairman Ali Noor.
In a declaration dubbed Banisa Declaration, the leaders said that they will clinch different elective posts when that time comes.
The governor has remained confident that he will beat his rivals in the forthcoming elections because of his performance scoreboard.
The county boss has assured residents that he will continue initiating projects that will benefit them if he is given another term in office.
