Kiambu Women Representative hopeful Gathoni Wa Muchomba wants the opposition to stop undermining President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee government.

Gathoni claims that the opposition led by Raila Odinga wants to derail the Jubilee government development agenda.

The aspirant said that the opposition is not sincere on matters corruption.

According to the Star, the aspirant claimed that Raila is using corruption to incite Kenyans against the Uhuru Kenyatta government.

“The opposition should stop engaging the government in baseless propaganda and allow it to do its work,” she said as quoted by the Star during a meeting with women at Ndumberi in Kiambu on Monday.

The radio presenter said that Jubilee government has achieved much development which the opposition is envious of. “The opposition feels threatened by the development agenda realised by the Jubilee government and wants to tarnish it,” she said.

Gathoni asked Kenyans not to be fooled by the opposition.

She added that President Uhuru Kenyatta will win in 2017 to continue pushing for development.

Gathoni is seeking to unseat the incumbent Annah Nyokabi. She has urged women to rally behind her bid promising to address issues facing them.

The aspirant said the current Kiambu leadership has failed to tackle key issues facing women.

She vowed to push for programs that will empower women and other disadvantaged groups in the county.
