Three hundred students from Gathuri primary school in Gatundu South have benefitted from shoes that were issued on Thursday in the school, after a public outcry of destructive jiggers in the area.

Stanley Kamau, the operation leader assured area residents his organization’s readiness to fully eradicate jiggers in an effort to bring peace to affected peoples bodies.

He further vehemently urged parents to exercise cleanliness as one of the modes of getting rid of jiggers.

“With a concerted effort from all players, I hope this menace can be halted; cleanliness is one pillar that can play a big part in getting rid of jiggers,” he said.

“Ahadi Kenya in collaboration with the Kenyan government and other stakeholders are united to ward off any diseases affiliated to jiggers, let us help fight this poverty related monster to upgrade the living standards of minors,” he added.

Parents of the beneficiaries were overwhelmed with joy, and thankfully embraced the move by Ahadi Kenya to remove jiggers from existence.

“We are full of joy for the service offered to us by Ahadi Kenya, may God gracefully bless Kamau and his team,” Ann Nyambura, a mother of James Gakuri, who benefitted happily remarked.

The pupils were also advised to work hard in school to raise the standards of their society.

Teachers, parents, children and other area adherents had gathered in the school hall to witness the event, with the shoes distributed to pupils from nursery school to class eight who were walking barefooted.
