Gatundu general hospital’s water shortage has been addressed by the Kiambu county government.
Speaking to the media this morning the CeC for water Esther Njuguna said that the water supply has returned to the hospital.
Njuguna revealed that the hospital had a borehole which has for now broken down, but that they have put a plan in place for the hospital to recieive wate from the Gatundu Water and Sewerage Company whenever the borehole was not working.
She said that for now the water would be given by the Gatundu Water and Sewerage Company which draws its water from the Thiririka and Ndarugo rivers.
“The hospital has a borehole whereby if it’s broken down it’s served by Gatundu water. For now the water is being supplied by the water company so residents should not fear to go to hospital since services have resumed,” Njuguna explained
She said that the people should not fear going to hospital for the hospital now has adequate water to serve the patients, as well as maintain its good hygiene.
The statement was confirmed by the hospital medical superintendent who said that the hospital has now received water supply, and that the hospital hopes to continue with its services to the best of their abilities.
