Speaking to journalists on Tuesday at Maria-ini Secondary School, the graduates led by James Mwangi said they have come together to give back to the society now that there is a need to do so.

They called on graduates from other areas to volunteer in their local schools to mitigate the impact of the strike especially among candidates.

"We have students from various schools in this area both class eight and form four candidates coming here for remedial teaching and revisions. This is voluntary and we urge other graduates like us to volunteer in their areas as we do not know how long the strike will take,” said Mwangi.

Gituamba Ward MCA Samuel Ng'ang'a lauded the graduates' efforts to help their juniors.

"I thank these graduates for the good work they are doing. I ask the parents and the local leaders to support them as they help our children who are about to start their national exams,” said Ng'ang'a.
