Wanjiku speaking on Kameme FM on Tuesday, confirmed that they have allocated Sh17 million to bursaries which will see all needy students benefit.

Wanjiku said that there is a committee which is basically concerned with awarding the bursaries without discrimination unlike before she was elected.

She noted that in the past, parents had to bribe CDF officers before they were awarded the money for their children.

"People were required to give out money amounting to Sh1000 only for them to be a warded a cheque worth Sh3000, meaning they were only getting Sh2000 from the bursaries," she said.

The MP has also said that currently needy university students are getting up to Sh30,000 depending on the level of their parents' vulnerability.

"Earlier university students were only getting Sh5000 from bursaries, but now we have come up with a list of all needy students, whom we are awarding up to Sh30,000. The money is awarded accordingly," she added.
