Gatundu South residents continue to laud Equity Bank's Wings to Fly Programme for the role it continues to play in the lives of poor, bright kids.
Speaking on Wednesday outside Gatundu Equity Bank branch during a ceremony to flag-off four students who completed their KCSE exams last year to go for an induction course in Kasarani, Mercy Kimata, and an Education Officer from the area termed the programme as a saviour.
“This programme has really saved many children who would have otherwise been wasted away at home,” said Kimata.
“The four students are going for an induction course which will enable them to join the Equity Africa Leadership Programme and also work in the bank before they join university,” she added.
Hellen Njeri, who was among the four and who did her exams from Mary Hill Girls courtesy of the programme thanked the bank, saying that her goal in life is to be successful and give back to the poor.
“I have been helped by those who believed in me and I intend to do the same to those who are disadvantaged in society once I fully make it in life,” said Njeri.
