Gatundu South and North residents will have piped water in their homes following the completion of Theta Dam in Gatundu South.
Gatundu Water and Sewerage Company Patrick Mwangi managing director on Wednesday said the residents will be served once the logistical issues have been addressed.
"We have had the challenge of accessing clean water in this area by most residents. But for now I am pleased to announce that we are through with construction of Theta Dam. We now remain with construction of the treatment plant which won't take long," said Mwangi.
He added: "Once we are through with the plant, we will start to pipe the water to the regions without any tap water like Kahugu-ini, Kibichoi, Gaithece, Kamunyu, Kenyatta Road and we are also thinking of Makwa in Gatundu North."
Mwangi also appealed to residents to be settling their water bills on time to ensure efficiency while warning against illegal water connections.
"Let's pay the bills on time to be able to extend the water to those without and avoid illegal connections too. Once you are caught doing so you will be fined with Sh10,000 and be charged in court too," he said.
