Gatundu residents have been urged to venture in business to fight poverty and address unemployment.
Speaking in a meeting held in Gatundu town Pauline Wanjiku an officer with, Health and Development International (AHADI) East Africa, said creation of small business will help residents make their livelihoods better.
“Poverty can be eliminated once youth, women and Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) involve themselves in something constructive,” said Wanjiku.
Wanjiku noted that increased activities of business will help in addressing some challenges affecting residents.
She further said that poverty index can change if youths and women venture in business.
“Youths and women should come together and form groups so that they can access loans," said Wanjiku.
She further said that county government need to enhance business atmosphere for residents to venture in business.
“There is need for the county government to create an enabling environment for small business traders,” said Wanjiku.
