Speaking to this writer on Monday, the area residents claimed that they have experienced a big loss following an attack from stray leopards which, according to them, have killed more than 30 goats and injured many others.

According to Dennis Wainaina, the leopards have been tracing the sheds at night and killing the goats. He said that the residents also fear facing it since the leopards have been very fierce adding that they are also a threat to people in the area.

He said that they are even fearing for the lives of their children whom they say could be as well ambushed by the leopards on their way to school saying that their children are going to school very late since they fear  being attacked by the animals.

“Our children are leaving home to school very late because we fear that they may be ambushed by the stray leopards when they leave very early. We are now asking the Kenya Wildlife Service officials to capture these leopards before they shift their attention to the residents,” said Wainaina.

He added that the residents who get late or work in night shift cannot come home until morning for fear of being attacked by the leopards.
