Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria has announced plans to establish a university in the constituency.
The MP while addressing residents of Kamunyu on Thursday said that enough funds have been set aside for the project.
Kuria said that he has also approached investors who will help set u the university to be called Mama Ngina University.
‘Plans are at an elaborate stage to establish a modern and technical university in Gatundu South,” said Kuria.
The legislator observed that the establishment will enable many residents access higher education.
He intimated that many locals have to seek education from other counties a move he said is a threat to development.
“We must have our own university where or children and people will get quality education,” he said.
Kuria also said that programmes will be started to improve the level of performance in national exams.
The MP at the same time urged needy students to apply for bursary funds. He said the constituency has money that should be utilised by students.
