Governor Kinuthia Mbugua kicked off the county government outreach programme dubbed Serikali Mtaani on February 3.

He has visited six sub-counties among them Kuresoi South, Kuresoi North, Molo, Njoro, Rongai and Subukia.

In Bahati constituency, where the full Nakuru county headquarters will be on April 6 and 7, the governor is expected to address some issues affecting ‘Wanjiku’ one-on-one.

These include lack of water in Kiamaina ward, poor roads and land issues in Bahati ward, where plot owners are demanding title deeds.

However, some of the high profile leaders and politicians in Nakuru have criticised Nakuru’s leadership terming the outreach “a PR exercise”.

For instance, former Subukia MP Koigi wa Wamwere, in an article carried by the Star on March 26, said; “The crisis of leadership that also afflicts the national government was graphically illustrated in Nakuru county when President Uhuru visited, and Governor Kinuthia Mbugua was booed, heckled and silenced by an audience that seemed both spontaneous and paid”.
