According to Kenya Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kiambu County branch Chairman,Thinguri Warwathe, county residents are still being asked to pay high levies on the same as it were before the governor's intervention.

"The Governor reduced the levies on solid waste but the Finance Executive has been sluggish to gazette it. We are urgigng her to gazette the changes to make the governor's announcement legal,” said Warwathe.

Warwathe now says that the revenue officers continue to demand the old high levies saying they are following what is gazetted.

"They tell people that what Kabogo said was a roadside declaration as it has not been gazetted,” notes Warwathe.

He has now asked the governor to ensure that the matter is gazetted to avert further suffering of residents in the hands of revenue collectors.
