There is more than what catches the eye between National assembly Majority leader Aden Duale and Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli woes.
During the Labour Day celebrations, Francis Atwoli issued a serious of accusations against the vocal Jubilee MP.
“There are members of parliament who will stand with us, let Duale know that…Resolving workers issues are not to ask Duale to change the employment legislation. Instead of Duale coming up with legislation to curb rampant deaths in the gulf. Somebody tell that young man,” fired Atwoli during the Labour Day celebrations amid cheers.
On the other hand, Duale was quick to respond to the allegations by the COTU boss.
“Today, I heard the Secretary-General COTU, my friend Atwoli making uninformed and ignorant allegations regarding some bills before parliament, in most uncouth manner, directed at certain Members of Parliament,” noted Duale.
But what actually made Atwoli choose to fight with Duale in public.
National Assembly Majority leader has been very vocal in a plan to remove of COTU boss from his current position on 10nth February 2018.
This did not augur well with Atwoli who fought back the Majority leader on plans to oust him out of the NHIF board.
“It is regrettable that Duale opted to rely on here says and innuendos in the discharge of duties,” noted Atwoli in February 2018.
The vocal COTU boss noted that he will only come out of COTU after serving his term and not because Duale wanted him to resign.
