Geni reportedly took off with a microphone after the audience turned hostile when he made several attempts to address them.

But on Tuesday, the OD MP admitted having run away with the microphone and apologized to the mourners and the bereaved family.

“We are all human beings and hence no one is perfect. I would like to apologise for my unacceptable behavior during the funeral and hope the family members of Mzee Masanya will forgive me,” he said.

“I believe we learn from mistakes so I am not exception. Sometimes things happen spontaneously so people don’t have to condemn us strongly like they are doing,” he added.

He said he would dispatch public address system to a number of churches in North Mugirango subject to a meeting he plans to hold with church leaderships.

“I know the microphone that I took belonged to a church and in response, I would purchase public address systems but after taking statistics. That is the only way I will show leadership as area MP. Such incidents will never happen again,” he said.

He also challenged other politicians who reportedly transported goons to disrupt the funeral to come publicly and apologise to the area residents.

“I know that some of us may have transported our supporters to disrupt the funeral because of political supremacy, it’s the time now to shame the devil by apologizing,” he said.
