Duale had on Monday dismissed Raila’s claims over a mega water project in Murang'a County as a ‘divisionary’ tactics on the problems engulfing the Cord coalition.

And during a phone conversation with this reporter, Geni accused the Garissa Township MP of meddling in opposition politics and warned him of ‘tough political’ moments should he continue disrespecting the former prime minister.

“Duale has a major problem because he just speaks for the sake of speaking. When Raila raises an issue of national interest, we expect him to counter it with facts rather than politicising everything,” he said.

Geni added: “he should be prepared for tough political times if he continues to attack Raila unnecessarily because we cannot allow that. Issues of national interest such as the environmental disaster posed by the project should be separated from mere politics.”

He said the opposition coalition was intact and dismissed speculations that it was on the verge of crumbling.

“When time comes, we will choose a flag bearer with ease. We have been in politics long enough and nobody should purport to lecture us on such issues,” he said.
