The residents of Genoke-Emmassy area in Kisii county have accused the county government over increased prices for water.
Some of the locals allegedly claimed that they had to camp at the stream to fetch water.
"In fact, water in the spring comes in drops making Kisii residents spend hours to fetch water," said one of the locals.
Kisii County residents have decried water shortage in the region days after NEMA said water from all water springs in Kisii town is unsafe.
Kisii town residents now have to go deep into their pockets to purchase a 20-liter water jerrycan at a cost of Sh30 to Sh40.
Is it the time for the county government to intervene and drill boreholes to help in supplying of plenty water to locals
