A list of wines and spirits manufactures that have complied with the law is set to be released in two weeks.
The government inter-agency committee tasked with inspecting the manufacturers in the country has said that it will publish the list once inspection is complete.
The committee chair David Irungu said this on Monday when they visited the Kiambu based Moonwalk Investment Limited.
"We have names of 167 wines and spirits factories that have been brought to us by the Kenya Bureau of Standards. We will inspect all of them and release the names of those who have complied with the law in two weeks," said Irungu.
Irungu also asked the public to use the phone number 1192 to give any helpful information to the committee about factories near them.
The company's Managing Director Tony Mwangi said that their factory has met all the required standards.
"We are fully compliant with the law and have met the set distilling standards and processes. I appeal to the public to report people among them who make or sell counterfeits of our genuine products," said Mwangi.
