The three institutions that are set to benefit from the programme are Kassagam secondary school and Migosi and Bar Union primary schools.

Kisumu City manager Doris Ombara said construction work in the mentioned schools will start soon.

Speaking during her visit at the Kassagam secondary school on Wednesday, Ombara said the project involves construction of classrooms, laboratories, libraries, dining halls, sports fields among others.

“Apart from the 16 classrooms, we will have a school hall, administration blocks, four laboratories, dining hall and library among others in Kassagam school,” she said.

She added that Migosi primary will have 44 new classrooms, library, laboratory and playing field for the children.

“And lastly, we also have Bar Union primary school which has 16 classrooms and will have similar facilities as the other two,” she said.

The city manager said they are considering incorporating the local contractors in the construction work, without compromising on the high standards set by the Kenyan and German governments.
