Gesami is expected to fight for the ticket with the incumbent, Governor John Nyagrama who was elected on an ODM ticket.

Speaking during an interview with this writer, Gesami urged his supporters to ‘worry’ less about the ticket and instead concentrate on popularising his candidature.

“All I need from them is popularising my candidature for the gubernatorial race. The issue of ODM nominations should not be a big challenge because I am sure of landslide victory against my competitor,” he said.

“They should worry less because I am going to win the nominations. I cannot move out of the ODM simply because the incumbent will face me in the nominations. We will battle it out and eventually I will win because I have played this game for a long time,” he added.

The lawmaker said he was optimistic of an outright victory in the gubernatorial race to bring ‘economic sanity’ in Nyamira County.

“Our people have suffered for the last few years simply because those in the system are very gray on matters development. I will win the elections and bring economic sanity to our beloved county,” said the Nyamira County ODM chairman.
