West Mugirango MP James Gesami has beseeched his constituents to stay away from politicians orchestrating divisive politics in order to maintain peace.
On a phone interview with this reporter shortly after the politically reprimanded chaos witnessed on Friday at the funeral of late Godfrey Masanya, Gesami called for a total withdrawal from upcoming politicians in the region with intentions to disunite locals on their own intererests, terming the incentive as 'ill and unwarranted'.
"I'm absolutely displeased with how some of the rising politicians are playing their political game and inciting people for wrong reasons. Let West Mugirango people avoid such politicians with such ill and unwarranted intentions," said Gesami.
He also pleaded for locals to vote on grounds of development records and desist electing leaders hinged on clanism inducement which he said negates development.
"My people should elect leaders knowingly of their development records not on clanism, which to my belief voids development,” he said.
The incumbent MP also called to a halt of old tendencies in which voter trade their due plebiscites privileges with petty cash on poll day.
"People should also stop from being bought to vote in favour of a certain politician. That should be a thing of the past,” he said.
