Ex – West Mugirango MP James Gesami has distanced himself from a Facebook post allegedly of his, claiming that he joined Jubilee to ‘eat’ and eventually vote for Raila Odinga.

The viral post was circulated in various social media platforms prompting the former Assistant Minister to respond.

And at Gesima when he was formerly welcomed by President Uhuru Kenyatta to Jubilee, Gesami said he joined government due to ‘oppression’ in his ODM party.

“I do not own a Facebook account and whatever is being spread does not originate from me,” he said, amid cheers from Jubilee supporters.

He added:”I am in Jubilee just because of intimidation from the other side and I will vote for Uhuru. Ignore those propagandas.”

He unsuccessfully ran for Nyamira governorship seat after losing badly in ODM primaries to incumbent John Nyagarama.

Until his defection, Gesami served as ODM Nyamira branch chairman and at some point, Raila Odinga appointed him as Assistant Minister to Health ministry.
