West Mugirango legislator James Gesami has declared that he will face Deputy President William Ruto during the 2022 presidential election race.
Gesami has said that in preparation to face Ruto, he will first seek to unseat Nyamira Governor John Nyangarama.
"I have said that am going to vie for the gubernatorial seat because am sure Nyngarama cannot defeat me. After becoming the governor I will face DP Ruto in the 2022 elections bid, " said Gesami.
The legislator was speaking at Nyaisa secondary school in his constituency on Thursday.
Reports indicate that Nyangarama, who was elected on an ODM ticket is set to ditch the party in order to avoid being subjected to primaries where he will face Gesami.
According to sources close the governor, he is only focused on his re-election alone.
