Gesima parents have accused the area MCA of being behind appointment of the incoming head teacher of Riakworo Primary School.
Expressing their dissatisfaction on the new school head Mr Robert Tumbo on Thursday, parents threatened to incite their children to boycott school ahead of official opening on Monday next week.
The parents claim that area MCA Ken Atuti played a pivotal role in having Mr Tumbo transferred to the institution.
Tumbo had allegedly been faced with various allegations ranging from financial impropriety, gross misconduct and negligence when he was at a neighbouring school.
The parents asked Atuti to look for another institution to impose his ‘project’ or otherwise face a tough political season ahead of 2017 General election.
“As parents, we are really disillusioned with continued interference by politicians in matters education. Atuti was behind the appointment of the new head teacher but we are not happy with the move given the previous record of the teacher in institutions he has served,” said Amos Orina on behalf of parents.
He added: “If he won’t intervene and have the new head transferred elsewhere, our children will boycott studies and we also promise him tough political season ahead.”
Speaking on phone to this writer, Atuti defended himself and asked parents to submit their grievances to relevant authorities since he does not ‘transfer or appoint’ teachers.
