Gesima MCA Ken Atuti MCA has donated 70 bags of cement to an institution and promised to ensure the institution is refurbished after many years of ‘segregation’.

Speaking on Saturday to this writer, Atuti said the donations were timely, since the institution had been ignored by area leadership due to its physical location in the neighboring Borabu constituency.

Nyaronge primary is located physically in Borabu constituency and administratively in Kitutu Masaba constituency, making it difficult for area leadership to contribute towards its development.

“The institution has been ignored and I have raised issues about it for a long time. I had to chip in and ensure the process of renovation kicks off as planned. We want to see our students learn in favorable conditions and that is my aim,” he said.

Atuti challenged teachers and pupils from the institution to work hard to better the performance of the institution that has deteriorated in previous national exams.

“I am not impressed with the performance of the institution at all and this will be the time to change everything. A call upon teachers and pupils to work hard and improve the performance from the current mean of 235 marks,” he said.

The institution’s school head Josephine Nyang’ena lauded the MCA for the contribution, and urged other leaders to follow suit by helping the institution renovate the classrooms which were built at independence.

“This is commendable and we appreciate the work done by our MCA. We need more support of the same nature and we will do our part,” she said.
