Speaking at Ritibo village on Monday, Mr Ken Atuti of Gesima ward said the process of drilling and pumping the water would start immediately since he had secured Sh2 million for the same function.

The ward representative said the project would be consolidated with that of World Bank that collapsed after a section of local community organisers allegedly embezzled funds making the project to stall.

“I am glad to announce that the county government of Nyamira and has helped me to secure Sh2 million for the water project. I expect it to serve the three villages and the process of drilling and pumping will start immediately,” he said.

“We have agreed with some of your leaders to consolidate it with that of WB that collapsed because they acquired land that would be used. I want all residents to access clean water especially during dry spells,” he said.

He asked locals to support his administration and dismissed his political rivals by labelling them ‘sterile politicians’ who worked for their own interests.

“I want us to move together as one. Please ignore those sterile politicians who are making work difficult for me. All they want is to impede development in our region,” he said.
