Gesima ward MCA Ken Atuti has pointed out that farmers get big losses when selling their bananas through estimation method of prices.
Speaking out at Nyamakoroto village, Ken Atuti has promised to table a bill in the county assembly to implement a law in Nyamira County that will help farmers to sell the bananas by weighing in kilograms in order to avoid losses.
This idea was highly supported by the residents who mostly depend on banana farming, for their livelihood.
"We have been suffering for long now I believe the motion will be passed by the assembly," said Sylvanus Mokaya one of the farmers.
The county produces a lot of bananas and now the residents believe solution of selling has been arrived at.
