A day after suspected thieves invaded Nyabuya Primary School in Kitutu Masaba constituency and stole 20 bags of cement, area MCA Ken Atuti now wants police to investigate the incident.

Speaking at the institution on Tuesday, Atuti said the case might have been a conspiracy by insiders to defraud the institution of cement that had been donated by his office to repair classes that are said to be in a pathetic condition.

“Sometimes I really fail to understand. What I really know is that we have the guard who routinely checks on the institution at night and it’s really worrying that theft can take place without him raising an alarm. The police should investigate the incident and apprehend all suspects,” he said.

Atuti warned the management of institutions around his ward that had received cement donation of inability to start repairing the classrooms, in compliance with the agreement he had made with them.

“I donated these cements and we agreed that renovation was to commence immediately. If they continue delaying then we are likely to continue experiencing same theft across ten other institutions,” he said.

Keroka police had earlier on arrested the school guard, Erick Nyaribo, and he is facing interrogations at the Keroka police station in a bid to unearth the mystery behind the theft.
