Speaking on Wednesday during a funeral service at Iranya village, Mr Victor Swanya, who is also the proprietor of the Swanya Foundation donated Sh3 million that will be availed to Ritongo youth polytechnic's management by next week.

He ordered an immediate commencement of the project but asked the management to do thorough vetting on all contractors who wish to grab the tender in a bid to ensure the most competitive contractor gets the tender.

He urged youths who had relevant qualifications to the courses that were offered to enrol in large numbers besides promising to support the first 50 students who would have enrolled by next week.

“Due to the increasing population of students in Ritongo, I will submit a cheque of Sh3 million to the management and I expect the modern complex foundation to commence immediately. I, however, call for competition in tender awarding,” he said.

“Though I am impressed with the increasing population, I want to see more youths join the poly for their own good. I will pay the starting school fee for the first 50 people to enrol by next week,” he added.

Mr Swanya urged local residents to elect him in the 2017 general election since he had demonstrated his ability to serve the people of Kitutu Masaba.

“I have supported academics and other social events since my youth, time has come for you to support me in this course for a better Kitutu Masaba,” he added.
