A section of MCAs from Machakos County Assembly have criticized Governor Alfred Mutua's bench marking visit to Nyeri County terming it political, not developmental.
Led by the assembly's Majority Leader Francis Ngunga, they said all Mutua has been talking since he went to Nyeri is politics.
"Governor Mutua has proved that his visit was a political one, he has gone to popularize himself for the 2022 presidential elections," Ngunga said.
The lot addressed the press in Machakos town on Saturday.
Ngunga slammed the governor for taking with him 'rejected' ministers in his government.
He said when the names of the ministers were brought before the assembly last year, some were unqualified and others unfit for the dockets yet the governor is going round with them.
"We told the governor to make corrections and resubmit the list once again for vetting but up to today he hasn't, in all his visits he is accompanied by the ministers we rejected at the assembly," Ngunga stated.
He said the governor should get back to work and avoid unnecessary visits that don't benefit the county.
"You went to launch projects in Nyeri County while in Machakos hospitals don't have drugs," Ngunga said.
