Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale now claims the current government has contributed to a negative growth noting that the Mwai Kibaki-led coalition government was on the right tack in terms of growing the economy.
Khalwale accused President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto of derailing the growth the country's economy.
"Kibaki and Raila got the economy growing from negative 1.8 percent to 7 percent," he told NTV's AMLive show on Tuesday.
"Where did we go wrong? We thought the political orphans of Moi could put the country back on track to where Raila and Kibaki left it," he added.
The Senator now demands that the least the Uhuru can do for the country is to reinstate it to the point where the coalition government left it.
"What Uhuru and Ruto have done is to take us back. There is a clip doing rounds on social media asking the two no to do anything for Kenyans but to return the country to where they found it before taking leadership," he said.
