He at the same time laughed off Deputy President William Ruto saying the DP does not command support in Rift Valley.

Mr Moi said Kanu does not intend to join any alliance ahead of the 2017 general election.

He was speaking during a fundraiser at Marigat town organised to help 20 women groups.

"I want to tell [you] that it is true, we have got no plan as at now concerning them [other opposition leaders]; we just want to see Kenyans get their rights," he said during the Thursday event.

"Therefore they should stop bothering much about other people's political affiliation."

There had been talk that the independence party was warming up to join Cord affiliated parties to form an alliance that will take on President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017.

He warned politicians spreading the rumours to desist saying Rift Valley region is already a Kanu zone.

"We don’t want to hear leaders like DP William Ruto and Baringo Central MP Sammy Mwaita using their own powers to decide for us how things should be done in our own county," Moi said as quoted by the Star at the event where he was accompanied by Baringo County Speaker William Kamket, Rift Valley Kanu coordinator Jonathan Bii and Kanu MCAs.

The MCAs included Joseph Makilap (Barwessa), Nelson Lotela (Silale), Isaiah Kibowen (Marigat), Zachariah Chepkuto (Sacho), Solomon Makal (Koloa), Solomon Cheptai (Tengas) and Jackson Tarus (Mochogoi).
