Baringo senator Gideon Moi for the first time found himself working alone as deputy President William Ruto's foot solders seized the opportunity to dismember his 2022 bid.
Before Saturday's burial of Grace Kipchoim, Moi had also come under attack for reportedly blocking Ruto from seeing his father, Daniel Moi.
At the event, all leaders in attendance accused Moi of allegedly sabotaging Ruto's 2022 bid and none stood to defend him.
"Gideon has been blocking us from seeing his father but that is not an issue. He must know that 2022 belongs to William Ruto," he said.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi said: "We supported your father for 24 years and time has come for you to pay back. You lost in Kericho by-elections and that should have taught you a lesson."
When addressing mourners, Moi however warned leaders against dragging his father to political theatrics.
"I am begging you to leave my father alone. You can attack me I have no problem but do not drag my father."
