The National Alliance party's Mr Jason Mogusu sentiment’s come at the time the DP is traversing the country making his 2022 presidential intentions known to his supporters.

But Mogusu on Thursday said the DP’s recent rebellion in the Rift Valley and his ‘rigid’ perception on critical issues is detrimental towards Uhuru’s re-election.

“I am a strong supporter on the President and his government but I think time has come for him to make critical decisions by dropping his deputy. This is all about re-election and he would rather have someone who can redeem his votes or wait for punishment in 2017,” he said.

“Our DP sometimes I feel is very rigid and does not readily accommodate other people’s views. You saw his stand on the IEBC stalemate and not long ago ever since he faced rebellion from his own backyard,” Mogusu who also doubles as minority leader added.

He backed Mr Moi terming him a perfect replacement for the DP, and hailed his eloquence and ‘soberness’ in the political field.

“I think Mr Gideon Moi is a perfect replacement for Ruto in 2017. He is a sober politician and accommodative as well, qualities which make him a better choice. This is politics and if you can’t act, then things may go astray,” he said.

The Deputy President has been facing competition from his own backyard with Mr Moi leading the insurgency and the rift was manifested in March during the Kericho senatorial by-election.
