The politics of Rift Valley is slowly taking shape as leaders start strategizing for the next election.
At the centre of the politicking that is gaining momentum at the expansive region is Baringo Senator Gideon Moi who on Monday told-off Deputy President William Ruto over his 2022 presidential ambitions.
Mr Moi on his official Facebook account said it was unimportant for the DP, now, to talk about the 2022 politics when Kenyans are in dire need of services.
"Deputy President William Ruto should stop telling us to rally behind him in the 2022 elections," he said.
"What Kenyans want now is better services."
Moi currently, according to political analysts, posses a threat to the grip that Mr Ruto holds in Rift Valley bearing in mind his association with President Uhuru Kenyatta would still guarantee Mr Uhuru the Kalenjin vote in 2017 as well succeed him in 2022 if the Mount Kenya voting block backs him.
"Let him improve the lives of the citizens instead of telling them to believe in his dreams," he added.
"You cannot keep telling Kenyans to be patient. Let us not talk about 2022 because no one knows about that."
Kanu, the independence party in which Moi is chairman recently joined Cord in pushing for the disbandment of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
Kanu Secretary General Nick Salat actively participated in the protests he used to call for the reconstitution of the electoral body ahead of the 2017 polls.
