Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has termed reports linking him with a nomination to cabinet as 'primitive' adding that he is keen to work for his people on his capacity.

The Sunday Nation reported Moi's intentions to resign from parliament for a cabinet slot as he prepares to take a stab at presidency in 2022.

"Gideon Moi has expressed willingness to resign and join the cabinet or at least three of his allies may be considered by Uhuru Kenyatta," reported the Nation.

Further, the paper claimed that DP William Ruto was opposed to inclusion of Moi and his allies in cabinet, a reason he opted to snub naming of partial cabinet.

But speaking on Tuesday in parliament, Moi insisted that he is a 'stranger' to the reports adding that he will reject the offer should it come.

"I am focused on serving my people and not interested in cabinet. Should I get it, I don't think I will take the position.

"Only reading newspapers just like you and I am not aware of such plans. I do not serve in executive," he said.

Prior to August elections, Moi's KANU is said to have crafted MoU with Uhuru's Jubilee, a move that will see the party getting more appointments.
